Color Run

Dave and I have realized recently that we need to get our health back together. The last few years we have had a few things that have made that difficult, so be began our journey of working out more and eating better. One of the first things we did, was a color run. It was a 7k.
before the race, clean and white.

After the race, dirty, and colorful.

SUPER DAVE

The chapel hosted an event for people with deployed spouses. Dave played a super hero and got dunked in a dunk tank. The kids got to attend and play, it was fun be of service to all those families with their dads and moms gone.

Towada horse park

There is a beautiful park called the horse park. They have horses to ride, pet and feed.

One of the best things about the park was the amazingly huge roller slide. This is Melanie at the top ready to ride down. They have little boards to slide down on to get speed.

At the end of playing with horses, and riding the slide. we got some ice cream and played in the horse. The tail was another slide.

It was a great adventure. We loved the day we spent together with friends.

Summer Fun Beaches

We had tons of fun this summer at many beaches. Our favorite ended up being Sandollar beach. It had beautiful waves, and we rarely saw people. It was like we got our own private beach. It will defiantly be our go to beach in future years.

Courtney was afraid of the bugs in the sand and so she dragged this towel around for about 30min trying not to touch the sand. The next time she ran around an totally forgot about the bugs.

Girls camp in Yokohama

Girls camp was a huge adventure. Just like life it had its high, lows, tears, and laughter. So glad I got to spend the week with these amazing girls.
It rained every day we were at camp. We had flooded tents and mud galore. Everyday Dave and I ended up going on the hike. It was an amazing hike. We were able to teach the girls how to rock climb and repel. Some of the girls got scared and tired while climbing, but they had Dave encouraging them on. They were able to make it to the top with the encouragement.
By the end of the week the girls were tired and muddy. Worn out and exhausted. Just like life, it has highs and lows, but with help from others we make it through and can look back and see all the good that came from it.
Car ride down was so much fun, we jammed out to music, we ate too much candy and had a great time.

We had a beautiful hike we went on. It took us through the jungle, by a temple, and cemetery and lastly to a Buddha.

The hike took us to a beautiful Buddha statue. It was fun to be there with the youth. It was a million stairs to get here, but it was worth it.

One of my favorite parts, of camp, was being able to be with Dave all week. I sure love him and how much he is willing to serve others.

The Japanese people are amazing. You wonder why they live so long?  Everywhere you go you find older Japanese people  staying active. There was a group, we saw,  between their 60-80s rock climbing. They would hike to the top and then rock climb all day. This is why I think they live so long. They don't stop. They enjoy life and get outside and do things. What a great example to me and a culture I hope influences my life for a long time.

The girls were able to rock climb at the top of the hike.  They needed a man to go on the hike every day and so Dave hiked everyday. I actually did too, I wasn't needed on the hike, but a few things happened and I ended up hiking all 3 days. First,  I had a mom ask me to go the second day and watch out for her daughter and the third day I had a girl from our ward that wanted me to go with her. it was a lot of hiking, but it was fun to be with the girls as they conquered things that were hard and scary.

Most of our leaders! What a great bunch of Ladies. They inspire me to be better. They are so much fun to be around.

The girls were preparing their skit. They were so cute and so funny. Skit night always brings a bunch of laughs.

Rain, rain go away. Come again another day! Which it did. It rained everyday. We sloshed through mud and guck. It was so fun.

sKit night!

M&M BIRTHDAY BASH

Have you ever wanted a party filled with M&Ms. Well, considering my twins, that is just what they wanted and just what they got. We played games all with M&Ms and had a M&M candy station. It was tons of fun and the kids loved it.

The first part of our party was the arrival games. We had a guessing how many m&ms were in the jar, we had music and M&M balloons to play with. After that it wsa outside play time.
We had ropes strung up in our backyard and had a race to see who could do the course the fastest while carring an m&M on a spoon. They had tons of fun and winner got a prize.

We had about 15kids and they had so much fun. After the ropes course we headed inside to play don't eat M&M PETE, We had two different groups and they all had so much fun.

This is one of the groups playing the game. After don't eat pete. We went outside and played M&M Dodge ball with little rubber balls the kids got to take home with them.  Sorry, no picutres. I was too busy playing referee.
We had music playing and dancing while we did all the games. It was so much fun.

Then we headed in for Presents. Lots of kids and lots of fun. The twins were pretty spoiled.

Cake time. M &M for my M&Ms they designed there own cake and I made it. They wanted a bag and each their own m&M.  They even wore clothes to the party that matched there M&M. Cute girls. I can't believe they are 9. Wow, how time flys.

After cake and Ice cream. We headed outside for the color part of our night. We tried to make glow in the dark bubbles, but the bubble jars glowed but not the bubbles themselves. Maybe next time I can try adding more glowstick.  They had fun painting with it on my porch and playing with the glowsticks.

We gave them all glow sticks and they had a great time in the dark.

At the end of the night, we prepared an M&M stations with tons of different kids of M&Ms and they each got to fill a bag with their favorite kinds. It was a mess, but so much fun for the kids and us. This party was totally worth it and they had so much fun.

Beach Bonfire

Momoishi beach is beautiful and a great setting for a bonfire. The ward members here are amazing and because all of us are so far from family we are each others family. We support and love each other through everything. We went down to the beach with members of the ward family and had a big bonfire. It was so fun.

Melanie digging a hole and building a castle.

Just great Fun, love and laughter.
